Bottom of the Heart Zine, formerly Yonge Revolution, was founded at the beginning of the pandemic in April 2020 by then 16-year-old Fabienne de Cartier. The zine aimed to create a platform for young creatives to connect despite the isolating conditions they found themselves in. Publishing articles, essays, poems, visual artwork, and photography, Bottom of the Heart Zine strived to provide young people with the opportunity to discuss what they’re passionate about, whether it be politics, art, culture, mental health, identity, or what it means to grow up in the twenty-first century. Bottom of the Heart Zine ultimately endeavoured to encapsulate what Gen Z cares about.
